RKS0001 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKS0001 control cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKS Control Cables series. Designed for servo drive installations, the cable routes encoder and command signals between motion controllers and field devices so automated axes maintain coordinated positioning. Its construction, insulation, and shielding are adapted for continuous machine operation where cable chains and articulated carriers subject leads to repetitive flexing. Flexible jacketing and stable signal transmission make it suitable for linear transfer lines, pick-and-place modules, and other equipment that depends on reliable low-voltage control wiring.

In fixed routing, the cable handles -30 to +40 °C. In dynamic guides, it remains functional from -20 to +40 °C, so it can be used in both stationary control cabinets and moving gantries. The sheath and conductors withstand up to 5,000,000 cycles, allowing long service life in energy chains. During motion, the minimum loop radius is 7.5 × D, while a tighter 5 × D radius is permissible when the cable is stationary. A nominal outer diameter of 8.8 mm (±0.3 mm) simplifies gland selection, and the control cores are rated for 300 V in signal circuits.

The conductor set follows the arrangement 4x2x0.25 mm² + 2x0.5 mm², providing separate twisted pairs for differential encoder channels and a heavier pair for auxiliary 24 V functions. Individual control wires use a 0.25 mm² cross-section, which helps limit voltage drop over typical axis lengths. Loop resistance is 83.0 ?/km for the lighter pairs and 39.5 ?/km for the supply cores, allowing accurate evaluation of signal and supply losses along the cable run. A matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket in RAL 2003 orange supports fast visual tracing and resists coolant splash. The cable can be stored between -30 and +40 °C without degradation before installation.
