RKL4806 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4806 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is routed between Indramat servo drives and synchronous motors to supply three-phase power and auxiliary control signals inside automated machinery. By integrating power cores and shielded control pairs in a single flexible jacket, the cable simplifies installation in assemblies that perform continuous motion, such as pick-and-place gantries and indexing tables.

The cable is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles, meaning it can be moved that number of times in an energy-chain before mechanical fatigue compromises conductor integrity. During static routing the minimum bend radius is 5xD, while dynamic routing in a drag chain requires a larger 7.5xD radius to reduce stress on the stranded copper. A circular outer diameter of 10.0 mm supports compact cable trays yet leaves sufficient room for four power cores and the separately screened signal pair. The outer sheath is molded from PUR, a polyurethane compound that resists coolants, oils, and abrasion, making the cable compatible with high-duty machine tool environments. Its construction is expressly approved for drag-chain installations.

The jacket is colored RAL 2003 (Orange) to aid visual identification of live motor circuits among adjacent signal leads. Four power conductors sized 4x0.75 mm² carry phase current up to the cable's rated 300/500 V service level, while a shielded 2 x 0.5 mm² pair transmits brake or temperature feedback at 300/300 V control potential. Maximum conductor temperature reaches 80 °C, so the cable can ride beside servo motors without exceeding insulation class limits during continuous operation. Combined with its oil-resistant sheath and low capacitance geometry, the design maintains predictable drive output over long machine duty cycles.
