RKL4803 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4803 is a flexible motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links a servo drive to its matched motor and carries three-phase power together with low-level auxiliary signals. Its flexible construction supports continuous travel in automated handling equipment and gantry axes where repeated bending is expected. The assembly is intended for applications where the cable moves with the axis rather than remaining in a fixed conduit.

The four power cores each have a cross-section of 0.75 mm², sized to carry rated motor current with low voltage drop, while two auxiliary conductors are dimensioned at 0.5 mm² for brake or sensor feeds. Internally, the cable contains 4 insulated power conductors and 2 auxiliaries that remain electrically separated to reduce crosstalk between circuits. Mechanical life reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles, so the cable can follow an energy chain through repeated machine motion. During dynamic motion it must bend around a radius no tighter than 7.5xD to protect the insulation, while static installation allows a smaller 5 x D bend. The jacket compound is flame-retardant, halogen-free, and oil-resistant, which supports use near hydraulic lines or inside cabinets that require low-smoke materials.

The drive controller connects through an RLS0749 molded plug, while the motor end terminates in an RLS1701 mating part for a direct motor connection. Electrical insulation supports a continuous operating voltage of 300 V, covering typical 230 V servo systems with margin for transients. The cable can operate at temperatures from -30 °C up to 40 °C, allowing installation in chilled warehouses or warm machine enclosures without added cooling measures. Because the sheath is halogen-free and flame-retardant, any fire produces minimal corrosive gases around nearby electronics. Oil resistance also helps the outer jacket resist swelling when the cable passes through lubricated guideways or other machine areas exposed to industrial fluids.
