RKL4768 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4768 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to link a drive inverter to its corresponding motor in automated machinery, carrying motor power along with auxiliary control conductors. The design supports installation in dynamic cable carriers found on pick-and-place systems, gantry axes, and other industrial motion assemblies where repeated flexing and reliable power delivery are required. By combining power and auxiliary conductors in one moving cable, it helps keep routing compact along machine axes that reverse direction throughout the work cycle.

Under continuous motion, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles, indicating its expected service life when routed in an energy chain. The minimum static bend is 5 × D, and the dynamic bend radius is 7.5 × D. These limits help reduce conductor fatigue during installation and repeated travel. The overall diameter measures 25.5 mm, which keeps the cable compatible with common drag-chain cross-sections while housing both power and signal elements in one jacket. Conductor resistance is held to 1.21 ?/km, so voltage drop stays lower on long runs. Capacitance between line and shield remains at 1.2 nF/m, which helps reduce reactive current on the motor connection.

The auxiliary cores include a 1.5 mm² pair for brake or sensor circuits, while the three phase conductors offer 16.0 mm² of copper to support medium-frame servomotors. A PUR (adhesion-free, matte) outer jacket resists oils and weld spatter and slides smoothly inside plastic chains. The drive side terminates in an RLS1302 (C16) connector, and the motor side uses an RLK1401 plug. This connector arrangement allows direct attachment at both ends without field-installed terminals. Operating limits span fixed installations from -30 °C to 40 °C and flexing environments between -20 °C and 40 °C, allowing use in unheated facilities or warm enclosures without derating.
