RKL4754 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4754 belongs to the Bosch Rexroth Indramat RKL Motor Power Cables series and serves as the dedicated power lead between an inverter and its synchronous motor. The harness is produced from INK0602 bulk cable and is terminated with an RLK1201 motor plug and an RLS1202/C04 drive plug, so installation only requires routing and tightening the connectors. Four power cores and four signal conductors inside the PUR-jacketed sheath provide simultaneous transmission of three-phase energy and temperature or brake feedback, making the assembly a single-run solution for moving axes. This arrangement reduces the number of separate cable runs around the machine axis and helps keep moving cable guidance more orderly.

Its external diameter measures 14.8 mm, which helps determine suitable cable glands and drag-chain slot widths. Copper conductors exhibit a resistance of 7.98 ?/km at 20 °C, allowing accurate voltage-drop estimates over longer routing distances. The power bundle uses a cross-section of 4x2.5 mm², and the insulation system is rated for 600 V AC line voltage. Heat generated by cyclic bending and current flow is limited by materials that tolerate flexible operation up to 80 °C. A separate control quartet of 4x1.0 mm² conductors carries encoder power or holding-brake signals without requiring a second cable. This combined layout supports orderly routing where both power transmission and auxiliary circuits must pass through the same moving path.

For dynamic routing, the assembly is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles and is approved for drag-chain use, helping prevent conductor corkscrewing during continuous motion. The moving radius must not fall below 7.5 x D when the chain articulates and should stay above 5 x D in fixed runs, which helps protect the copper strands from fatigue. The jacket is colored Orange (RAL 2003) for quick visual identification in control cabinets, and the PUR outer layer resists cutting oils while maintaining flexibility at machine-room temperatures. Its outer surface also helps the cable pass through guides and carriers with less sticking during repeated travel.
