RKL4746 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4746 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links servo controllers to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary signals through a single routed assembly. By combining power and control conductors in one jacket, the cable simplifies panel wiring and supports organized routing between the drive and motor in dynamic factory cells. This arrangement reduces the number of separate cable runs that must be managed along moving axes and cabinet exits.

The four power cores have a cross-section of 50.0 mm², a size chosen to minimize voltage drop during high-current surges. Their copper strands present a resistance of 0.386 ?/km, so heat generation stays low over long cable runs. Separate pairs sized at 2.5 mm² carry temperature and brake signals, and isolating these smaller conductors helps reduce crosstalk with the main phases. For moving-axis installations, the PUR sheath and internal stranding tolerate chain accelerations up to 10 m/s² and travel speeds of 5 m/s without conductor fatigue. A discharge capacity of 1.3 nF per meter limits common-mode currents when pulse-width-modulated voltage is present, and the balanced layout helps reduce interference between the main conductors and the auxiliary lines.

Visual identification is fast because the outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 (Orange), and the halogen-free PUR compound resists oil and weld spatter common in assembly lines. The orange jacket also makes the cable easier to distinguish inside crowded machine enclosures. The cable is manufactured to AWM style 20234 and bulk reel code INK0668, allowing straightforward sourcing for field retrofits. One end terminates in the RLK1501 motor connector, and the other mates with an RLS0724/K50 controller plug, so no on-site crimping is needed. Four control wires and four power wires are segregated internally to reduce electromagnetic coupling.
