RKL4743 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4743 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a flexible PUR-jacketed assembly intended to carry three-phase power and auxiliary conductors between IndraDrive controllers and moving servo motors on gantries, pick-and-place modules, and other axes that travel in drag chains. By combining high-strand copper cores with abrasion-resistant insulation, the cable maintains electrical performance and mechanical reliability in automated production cells where repetitive motion and electrical noise are present. Its flexible construction also suits installations where the cable bends repeatedly as an axis accelerates, stops, and reverses direction.

The conductor set is sized for both control and high-current paths. The brake or sensor circuit uses an auxiliary core of 1.5 mm², while the motor phase group uses 35.0 mm² conductors to handle surge current during acceleration. The overall cable diameter is 30.8 mm, which helps with cable-carrier sizing and routing clearance. Electrical characteristics include a capacitance of 1.2 nF/m and a loop resistance of 0.554 ?/km at 20 °C, allowing voltage-drop calculations on long runs. These values support stable power transmission across extended cable lengths.

In energy-chain service, the cable requires a minimum bending radius of 7.5 x D, while fixed installation allows 5 x D. It is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles, supporting repeated motion in packaging and machine-tool applications. During movement, conductor temperature is limited to 80 °C, while fixed routing permits up to 90 °C. The matte orange PUR jacket resists oil and weld spatter and remains adhesion-free for easier cleaning. This jacket material also helps the cable move smoothly in drag-chain systems without sticking to adjacent surfaces.
