RKL4731 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4731 is a ready-made power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo-drive installations, it carries three-phase motor power and auxiliary control conductors between an IndraDrive amplifier and a moving motor. Factory termination removes assembly errors and reduces wiring time in automated production lines. Because the cable is expected to travel inside drag chains and robotic arms, its mechanical construction focuses on repeated flexing, chemical resistance, and electrical reliability within industrial automation cells. It integrates both high-current and low-level circuits in a single jacket to minimize cabinet penetrations.

Durability is established by a flex rating of 5 million bending cycles, confirming compatibility with continuous-motion applications. A molded RLK1401 clamp box mates to the motor housing, while the opposite end uses a keyed RLS0721 plug for quick connection to the drive module. The cable may articulate to a minimum dynamic radius of 7.5 x D without stressing the conductors, though a static installation must observe 5 x D to preserve insulation integrity. Four copper conductors sized 4x6.0 mm² form the power core, supplying phase current with reduced voltage drop during acceleration ramps.

The internal control bundle consists of 2x1.0 mm² + 2x1.5 mm² wires that transmit brake, thermal, or sensor signals so no separate harness is needed. A bright Orange (RAL 2003) exterior of PUR withstands oil, welding sparks, and cleaning agents while remaining flexible at low temperatures. Beneath the jacket, a total shield of copper braid attenuates emitted noise and protects neighboring feedback cables from conducted interference, supporting stable encoder communication and compliance with electromagnetic compatibility guidelines.
