RKL4730 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4730 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. In automated production cells, it forms the energy link between a drive controller and the moving motor, carrying three-phase current while withstanding continuous motion along cable tracks and robotic joints. The orange sheath follows RAL 2003 for clear identification inside multi-cable trays, and the design is based on bulk cable type INK0667.

The cable endures up to 5,000,000 flex cycles, so it can remain in service through long duty cycles on fast-moving axes. An outer diameter of 30.8 mm provides mechanical strength without exceeding common drag-chain limits, and its power conductors use a 35.0 mm² cross-section to minimize voltage drop at high motor currents. Copper strands exhibit a conductor resistance of 0.554 ?/km, which helps the drive account for expected I²R losses and thermal rise. The PUR jacket resists cutting oils, weld spatter, and abrasion, which extends service life in machining centers. For dynamic routing, the cable can bend down to a radius of 7.5×D, allowing tight loops while preventing shield or insulation fatigue.

When the installation is at rest, the static bend limit relaxes to 5×D, letting the line route through fixed guide channels without overstressing the core bundle. The controller side is terminated with a RLS0724/K35 plug, establishing a keyed interface to Rexroth inverters, while the motor side uses a compact RLK1301 connector that seals against coolant splash. This routing helps keep electrical impedance stable during continuous motion and preserve signal integrity for the drive's ground and PE reference. The plug-and-play pairing reduces assembly time, ensures correct phase order, and maintains the concentric shielding path of the INK0667 cable design so the complete assembly meets EMC targets even as the jacket flexes through its rated cycle life.
