RKL4728 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4728 is a flexible motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links a servo controller to the matched motor within automated machinery, carrying drive current and signal cores in one assembly so routing stays simple and compact. The cable is intended for continuous-motion cable chains and other moving-axis layouts that demand long service life and stable electrical behavior in industrial automation. By combining power and auxiliary conductors in one jacket, it reduces the need for separate moving cable runs on the same axis.

Four bundled power conductors have a cross-section of 25.0 mm², enabling low-loss delivery of high operating current. Resistive drop across the copper is limited by a conductor resistance of 0.78 ?/km, which helps limit heating when cable runs stay within the intended length. Between the conductors and the overall screen, the mutual capacitance is 1.1 nF/m; this value reflects the reactive load presented to the drive output. Mechanical durability is supported by an endurance rating of 5 million bending cycles, which suits gantry and handling systems that operate continuously. The PVC-based jacket compound uses bulk cable type INK0607, providing oil resistance and consistent flexibility over the listed temperature range. An overall diameter of 29.8 mm helps with cable-tray selection and energy-chain fill checks. The large power cores and controlled electrical values support stable motor supply on axes with repeated flexing.

Signal functionality is handled by four auxiliary cores, each sized at 1.5 mm², so brake release or temperature contacts can be wired without a second cable. The controller end is terminated with connector RLS0724 (K25), while the motor side mates to interface RLK1301 for direct connection to compatible equipment. In dynamic applications, the cable may bend repeatedly to a radius of 7.5 × D; during static installation, the bend radius can be reduced to 5 × D. This arrangement keeps power delivery and auxiliary connections together in the same moving cable path, which helps simplify routing through drag chains and similar guided systems.
