RKL4722 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4722 is a pre-assembled motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links a drive controller to a servomotor, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary control conductors so that moving axes receive both power and control lines through one routed harness. The cable is intended for continuous-flex drag-chain routing, allowing it to follow packaging lines, gantries, and other equipment that require constant motion. Its mechanical core and insulation design are optimized for the high dynamic stresses found in automated production cells.

A cycle life of 5,000,000 flexes indicates the copper conductors and outer sheath can endure that number of directional changes without conductor breakage. When the cable is fixed, the minimum bend radius is 5xD, which preserves conductor geometry during static installation. Under dynamic motion, it must be bent no tighter than 7.5xD to reduce premature fatigue. The outside diameter is 18.5 mm, which sets slot width requirements in energy chains and cabinet glands. At 20 °C, each power core has a resistance of 3.30 ohm/km, which is used to calculate voltage drop over long runs and size overcurrent protection.

The internal layout of 4x6.0 + 2x1.0 + 2x1.5 mm² separates power, brake, and auxiliary conductors, while the green-yellow GNYE core provides a dedicated protective ground. A sheath of PUR resists oil and coolant exposure common in machine tools. The assembly carries control circuits at 300 V and main power conductors up to 500 V, matching the voltage classes used in Rexroth drive packages. Terminations are factory installed with an RLS0721 (K06) plug on the controller side and an RLK1301 plug on the motor side, and the bulk cable is identified as type INK0604 for spare-length procurement.
