RKL4720 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4720 is a factory-terminated motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Delivered as a ready-made power cable assembly, it provides a standardized link between IndraDrive controllers and synchronous or asynchronous servo motors. By integrating both power and auxiliary leads in one jacket, the cable simplifies routing on automated lines and helps preserve electromagnetic compatibility inside moving cable carriers. It is intended for flexible machine wiring where one prefabricated assembly is preferred over separate field-assembled leads.

Four copper cores with a conductor cross-section of 4.0 mm² carry the main motor current, while the molded plug marked RLS0722/K04 mates directly with the drive controller. At the motor end, a compact bayonet interface coded RLK1301 locks to the stator housing and seals the connection. For dynamic routing, the cable tolerates a bend radius of 7.5 × D during motion and a smaller static radius of 5 × D when fixed. Mechanical endurance is rated for 5,000,000 cycles of continuous flex in drag-chain applications, supporting use on high-stroke gantries or pick-and-place axes without premature copper fatigue. The molded controller plug and bayonet motor connector also help keep the assembly compact where cable carrier space and motor clearance are limited.

Two dedicated auxiliary pairs supplement the main cores. Conductors 5 and 6 are sized at 1.0 mm² for encoder supply or brake release signals, while conductors 7 and 8 are 1.5 mm² for higher-current auxiliary functions such as thermal contacts or sensor circuits. The larger auxiliary pair is useful where brake or monitoring circuits draw more current than encoder supply lines. The jacket is extruded around the INK0603 bulk cable type and provides abrasion resistance down to an ambient limit of -30 °C, so unheated machines can restart after overnight shutdowns.
