RKL4718 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4718 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links the power stage of an Indramat drive to the matching servo motor, carrying phase current, protective earth, and low-level auxiliary signals inside a compact, chain-compatible jacket. By combining drive-side and motor-side terminations in a single assembled length, the cable simplifies installation in industrial automation cells that require coordinated, high-speed motion. Its cable-chain-compatible construction suits moving axes where repeated travel would quickly wear a fixed-installation lead.

Internally, the cable routes 3 power cores, each with a copper cross-section of 2.5 mm², sized for the continuous motor phase current supplied by the converter. Four control cores with 1.0 mm² are included for sensor or brake signals, bringing the auxiliary conductor total to 4. A green-yellow protective earth uses the same 2.5 mm² section to meet grounding requirements under the GNYE identifier. The assembly uses bulk cable type INK0602 and is delivered as a direct connection cable, so no intermediate junction boxes are required. On the drive end, an RLS0723 (K03) molded plug mates to the power module, while the motor end terminates in the RLK1301 terminal box for screw clamping. The sheath and core geometry endure 5,000,000 flex cycles in energy-chain service, supporting gantry axes and pick-and-place heads.

The cable also has clear bending and temperature limits for both moving and fixed routing. During motion, it can flex repeatedly down to a dynamic bend radius of 7.5×D without conductor fatigue, and once installed in a fixed routing, it may rest at a static radius of 5×D. Service is maintained in cold rooms to -30 °C, and insulation integrity remains intact until the jacket reaches 80 °C. The polyurethane outer jacket supports repeated movement in Bosch Rexroth linear robots and articulated arms.
