RKL4717 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4717 is a flexible motor power connection produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for machine tools, material handling, and other automated equipment, the cable routes three-phase power and auxiliary control signals between the drive and the motor. It also tolerates continuous motion inside cable carriers.

Separate copper elements handle the different current paths. The power cores have a conductor cross-section of 2.5 mm², enabling low resistive losses when feeding standard servo motors over moderate distances. Four insulated control cores are present; the count of 4 simplifies connection of temperature sensors or brake release lines without an extra harness. Each control core is sized at 1.0 mm², so sensor or pilot currents travel with sufficient mechanical strength and minimal added diameter. The power conductors are rated for 300/500 V, and the control conductors are rated for 300/300 V; these values match typical inverter outputs and signaling levels and permit the cable to share routing space with neighboring energy chains.

The mechanical profile supports repetitive motion. The sheath is rated for 5 million carrier strokes, so service life aligns with multi-shift production cycles. During dynamic loops the cable can flex down to a radius of 7.5 × D, while fixed installations only require 5 × D; keeping within these limits helps prevent conductor fatigue. An outer diameter of 14.8 mm coordinates with standard drag-chain divider slots, and the PUR jacket, delivered in a matte adhesion-free finish colored RAL 2003 orange, resists coolants and oils while staying visible inside machines. Because the cable is approved for use in drag chains, it can be placed next to feedback, pneumatic, or hydraulic lines without adding external armor.
