RKL4707 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The Bosch Rexroth Indramat RKL4707 cable belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series and is used to link servo or spindle motors to their drive controllers in industrial automation cells. Designed as a flexible power cable rather than a feedback or data link, it carries phase current, brake control conductors, and protective earth in a single assembly. This layout helps route one harness through cable tracks or robot arms instead of separating power and auxiliary conductors into multiple runs. The cable is intended for continuous motion duty in drag chains and robot wrists, where repeated bending and twisting are common during normal machine travel.

In motion applications, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, which supports long service life under repeated flexing. A dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D is permitted, while a stationary installation may use a tighter 5 × D radius. The overall outer diameter is 17.0 mm, and the cable uses a PUR outer jacket that resists abrasion while staying flexible in moving routes. Auxiliary pairs on pins 5-6 and 7-8 use conductor areas of 1.0 mm² and 1.5 mm² to supply brake-release voltage and sensor power without making the cable unnecessarily bulky.

The cable has a distributed capacitance of 0.8 nF/m, which helps limit reactive current when the controller switches at high dV/dt and supports stable electrical behavior along the run. Its three-phase group uses a 4.0 mm² cross-section, supporting current levels typical for medium-frame Indramat motors across standard machine lengths. At the cabinet end, the cable uses an RLS0721/K04 connector, while the motor end uses the keyed RLK1201 plug for a secure connection and strain relief. These end fittings keep the assembly as a single cable run without intermediate junctions, which helps maintain continuous service in moving applications.
