RKL4705 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4705 is a dedicated motor power cable supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is designed to carry three-phase power, protective earth, and auxiliary signals between Rexroth servo drives and synchronous motors in automated production cells, gantries, and material-handling lines. By combining power and low-level conductors in one jacket, the cable simplifies routing in cable carrier systems and supports compact motion-control layouts. This arrangement also reduces the number of separate cable runs that must move with the axis.

With an outer diameter of 14.8 mm, the RKL4705 fits standard drag-chain separators while leaving clearance for nearby cables. The jacket is made of PUR, a wear-resistant plastic that tolerates oils and weld spatter, and it uses RAL 2003 orange for quick identification. When installed in moving carriers, the cable may bend down to a radius of 7.5 × D without stressing the cores, while static cabinet runs permit a tighter 5 × D bend. The design endures 5,000,000 cycles in a drag chain before mechanical fatigue is expected. These limits help maintain insulation integrity during repeated motion. They also help the cable move through tight carrier paths without requiring excessive routing space.

Each power core has a cross-section of 2.5 mm², providing suitable ampacity for typical 400 V drive outputs. There are 4 auxiliary cores for brake release or temperature signals. Two shielded control pairs rated at 2 (1.0 mm²) support encoder or interlock circuits, and the auxiliary wires use the same 1.0 mm² cross-section. The cable's mutual capacitance is limited to 0.7 nF/m, which helps reduce reactive current on longer runs. Its copper loop resistance is 7.98 ?/km at 20 °C, which is useful for estimating voltage drop in distributed installations. These electrical values help evaluate cable length, loading, and signal stability during system layout.
