RKL4704 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4704 is a factory-terminated power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for drive-to-motor interconnection in automated machinery, it carries three-phase power alongside auxiliary signals in one jacketed assembly. The cable arrives with molded connectors and preset lengths, so it can be routed without field crimping or separate connector assembly. By combining motor power and support circuits in one assembly, it reduces the number of individual cable runs needed between the cabinet and the motor. In motion systems, this ready-made cable keeps wiring organized and maintains consistent electrical performance between the drive and motor.

The cable supports dynamic motion with a bending radius of 7.5 × D, which allows flexing in drag chains without excessive strain on the conductors. Its endurance rating is 5 million bending cycles for repeated movement in automated equipment. Each phase conductor has a cross section of 2.5 mm², and the cable includes 3 power conductors for balanced three-phase operation. This arrangement suits servo axes that cycle repeatedly while carrying motor current and auxiliary functions through a single cable run. In fixed installations, the permitted static bend radius is 5 × D, since the cable is no longer exposed to continuous flexing.

Auxiliary functions are carried by signal wiring within the same sheath, and each signal core has a cross section of 1.0 mm². The bundle contains 4 auxiliary conductors for brake, thermal, or supply functions. Keeping these lines in the same outer jacket helps maintain a compact cable path through carriers or machine frames. A protective ground is assigned to conductor 1, which bonds the motor frame to ground under fault conditions. The basic cable construction remains flexible down to -30 °C during storage, while the allowed operating temperature reaches 80 °C.
