The RKL4636 power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It serves as the moving connection between a drive controller and a motor, carrying motor power and auxiliary conductors through dynamic drag-chain routes used in automated machinery and handling systems. Using one flexible cable for these circuits supports repeated axis travel in gantries, transfer units, and similar equipment where routing space is limited.

The cable contains a core set of 4x6.0 + 2x1.0 + 2x1.5 mm², combining three-phase power leads, a protective earth, and paired signal wires inside one jacket. Its insulation system is rated for 600 V AC, allowing direct connection to standard servo inverters. A circular profile of 18.5 mm simplifies strain-relief hardware selection and helps maintain consistent fill in conduits and cable carriers. Mechanical life is rated for 5 million bending cycles, and the minimum bend radius in a stationary run is 5 × D. The outer sheath is made of PUR (adhesion-free, matte), which resists cutting oils, weld spatter, and embedded debris found on production lines.

A conductor resistance of 3.30 Ohm/km helps limit ohmic losses over long carriage strokes, while the low dielectric design keeps mutual coupling small, as shown by a discharge capacitance of 0.8 nF/m. For continuous flexing inside a drag chain, the moving installation radius is 7.5 × D, which helps protect the jacket and internal screens during high-speed reversals. The orange RAL 2003 jacket improves visual identification, and the cable remains suitable for warm-zone enclosures with conductor temperatures up to +90 °C in fixed routing and up to +80 °C in mobile routing. This temperature range suits pick-and-place axes, gantries, and automated storage equipment that operate with frequent motion cycles.
