RKL4608 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4608 cable is a motor power lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for synchronous servo axes, it routes three-phase power and low-level control signals between a drive controller and a moving motor, supporting automated gantries, packaging lines, and material-handling cells where continuous flexing is expected. By combining power, brake, and sensor conductors in one flexible sheath, it reduces panel wiring complexity and simplifies chain routing in high-cycle machinery.

The copper power cores feature a cross-section of 10.0 mm², a size that supports the current demand of mid-range servo motors without excessive voltage drop. Separate control pairs are dimensioned at 1.0 mm², so encoder or thermal sensors can share the same run while remaining electrically isolated. For auxiliary functions such as brakes, lighting, or holding valves, the cable integrates 1.5 mm² conductors, balancing flexibility with adequate ampacity. The overall diameter measures 22.2 mm, which governs carrier fill calculations and confirms compatibility with typical 25 mm chain links. All conductors are contained within the manufacturer's bulk cable type INK0605, ensuring consistent electrical and mechanical properties across different harness lengths.

Terminations on the drive side are accomplished with the keyed hybrid connector RLS0721/K10, giving strain-relieved power and signal contacts in one plug. When installed in a dynamic carrier, the cable tolerates a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, while stationary routing can tighten to 5 × D. These limits protect the fine-strand conductors from fatigue. The polyurethane jacket is colored Orange (RAL 2003), a standard safety hue that signals energized motor circuits and resists abrasion and cutting oils. The PUR compound is halogen-free, lowering toxic fume risk during a fire, and it is approved for use in drag chains, so repetitive strokes will not crack the sheath.
