RKL4604 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4604 is a flexible motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links servo drives to motors in factory automation, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary control signals while tolerating continuous motion on cable tracks and articulated robot arms. Its flexible construction supports moving axes where stable electrical performance is required during repeated travel. This makes it suitable for automated equipment that uses dynamic cable routing instead of fixed wiring.

This cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, so it can be used in high-duty drag-chain applications without early mechanical fatigue. During motion, it requires a minimum bend radius of 7.5 x D, and in a fixed installation the radius may be reduced to 5 x D. The conductor arrangement is 4x4.0 + 2x(1.0) + 2x(1.5) mm². Four conductors carry the drive output current, while the smaller conductors support brake or sensor circuits. Direct-current losses are limited by a resistance of 4.95 ?/km, which helps control voltage drop on longer machine axes. The jacket is orange in RAL 2003, making the cable easier to identify in dense cabinet or machine layouts.

The insulation system supports a power core rating of 600 V AC, and the separate control cores are also approved for the same voltage. Capacitance is limited to 0.8 nF/m, which helps reduce reactive current at switching frequencies and supports stable signal transmission between connected components. The outer sheath is made of PUR, a matte and adhesion-free material that resists oils and abrasion in automated assembly lines. For cold-storage areas or other low-temperature installations, the cable can be laid at ambient temperatures down to -30 °C. The sheath material also supports repeated movement where a smooth outer surface helps prevent sticking during cable travel.
