RKL4603 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4603 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links IndraDrive or third-party servo inverters to rotary motors, carrying three-phase power together with auxiliary control cores in a single shielded sheath. In automated machining centers, gantry loaders, and packaging machines, the cable carries motor power and auxiliary signals in one assembly, which reduces cabinet bulk on multi-axis systems. The shielded design also helps support stable electrical performance when the cable is routed near other powered components. Its construction is approved for drag-chain service so that moving axes can reach design speeds without signal loss.

The cable is built on bulk type INK0602 and contains four power cores of 2.5 mm² plus four control cores of 1.0 mm². The power set uses 4 identical conductors to carry the main motor supply, while the lighter control quartet handles temperature sensors, brakes, or holding relays. Guided inside an energy chain, the assembly may flex around a dynamic arc of 7.5 × D without exceeding copper strain limits. Separate control cores allow one cable run to support several motor-related functions without additional loose wiring. A matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket in RAL 2003 orange resists oil and weld spatter, and factory-crimped ferrules at the motor side simplify insertion into terminal blocks.

System attachment is completed by the drive-end circular connector RLS0721/K03, which secures the shielding braid in a single-turn clamp. A secure shield termination helps maintain consistent electrical performance on servo axes during repeated motion. For stationary cabinet installation, the cable requires a minimum bend radius of 5 × D, while moving axes use the dynamic radius described above. Mechanical endurance reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles, supporting long-stroke pick-and-place modules during repeated motion. Fixed routing is permitted between -30 to +40 °C, and flexible runs maintain full ratings from -20 to +40 °C.
