RKL4601 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4601 cable is a flexible motor power lead manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to link drive controllers to synchronous or induction motors in automated machines, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary signals while tolerating high mechanical motion in cable carriers. As a pre-assembled item, it helps shorten installation time and preserves signal integrity in dynamic axes found in gantries, pick-and-place units, and other CNC stages.

It is specified for 5,000,000 flex cycles, so it remains electrically stable during prolonged motion in energy chains. Each of the four power cores has a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and a loop resistance of 13.3 ohms/km, which helps limit voltage drop between the controller and motor. The bundle tolerates repetitive curvature down to a dynamic radius of 7.5 × D, which is the minimum loop arc when the cable is moving. A thermoplastic polyurethane outer sheath of PUR provides abrasion resistance and oil tolerance. Drag-chain approval means the jacket and insulation withstand lateral forces without corkscrewing, and the 4 x 1.5 mm² layout simplifies connection to standard servo terminals.

The outer diameter measures 12.2 mm, enabling tight routing through machine frames while maintaining a static bend limit of 5 × D when clamped permanently. Visibility is enhanced by the jacket color coded RAL 2003 (orange), which matches standard European wiring schemes for energized motor circuits. On the controller side, an RLS0722 plug mates directly with Rexroth drive outputs, whereas the motor side is terminated with ferrules that fit terminal blocks or circular connectors supplied on the motor. Two shielded control pairs, listed as 2×(2×0.75 mm²), permit temperature sensor or brake signals to travel alongside the power cores without crosstalk.
