RKL4597 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4597 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It delivers three-phase drive power and auxiliary control cores from servo amplifiers to synchronous motors in automated machinery, where steady current-carrying capacity and continuous motion cycles are required. By combining power conductors and signal pairs inside a single shielded jacket, the cable simplifies routing in cable tracks and helps limit electromagnetic interference inside control cabinets and gantry axes. The combined layout also reduces the need for separate auxiliary cabling between the cabinet and the motor.

The INK0606 bulk type code matches the conductor count, insulation system, and shielding layout used for compatible drive packages. Four main copper cores with a cross-section of 4x16.0 mm² handle motor phase current, while two double-twisted signal pairs at 2x(2x1.5 mm²) support temperature sensors or brakes. The nominal outer diameter of 25.5 mm provides a predictable fill factor in drag-chain channels and helps the cable sit evenly alongside neighboring runs. In static trays, the cable accepts a minimum bend radius of 5 x D. During continuous motion, the bend radius must not drop below 7.5 x D. The cable also uses stranding intended for dynamic bending, and a tinned copper braid provides 360-degree shielding to help reduce coupling from drive switching edges into nearby low-level circuits.

The outer sheath is colored Orange (RAL 2003) to identify motor power circuits and is molded from PUR, a material chosen for tear resistance and a matte, low-adhesion surface that sheds chips and weld spatter. That jacket surface can also slide more easily in moving carriers and is less likely to stick to adjacent cable runs. Operation is permitted up to a conductor temperature of +80 °C, allowing the cable to run alongside motors that operate warm under peak torque without degrading insulation life. The design is halogen-free, mineral-oil resistant, and resistant to hydrolysis, so it can tolerate coolant mist and cleaning agents in industrial equipment.
