RKL4591 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4591 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo-drive installations, the cable transmits three-phase energy and protective earth between inverters and synchronous motors while accommodating continuous motion in drag-chain assemblies. Its construction combines finely stranded copper conductors, a halogen-free PUR sheath, and integrated signal leads to deliver consistent power to moving axes used in automated assembly lines and machining centers. This layout supports applications where the power cable must tolerate repeated travel without sacrificing electrical continuity or routing flexibility.

Electrically, the cable carries up to 600 VAC through power cores of 25.0 mm², arranged as 4 (3 + PE). The copper at that cross-section shows a loop resistance of only 0.78 ?/km, keeping voltage drop low over extended lengths. Despite the generous conductor area, an outer diameter of 29.8 mm helps conserve space inside cable tracks, and the matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket slides smoothly against guiding elements. A 1.5 mm² control pair resides under the same sheath for brake or sensor signals, which keeps auxiliary wiring with the main power run. Fixed routing permits bending to 5 × D, while dynamic loops allow 7.5 × D. Continuous movement is supported with conductor temperatures up to +80 °C, and the polyurethane compound resists cutting fluids, oils, and weld spatter.

Mechanical longevity reaches 5,000,000 flex cycles, matching high-duty gantry, packaging, and pick-and-place systems. Drive-induced voltage transients are moderated by a discharge capacitance of 1.1 nF/m, helping limit electrical stress during rapid PWM switching. Fast visual identification is provided by the bright sheath in RAL 2003 (orange). When installed in static sections, the conductors may operate at temperatures up to +90 °C without impairing dielectric strength. The orange jacket also improves visibility where multiple moving cables are routed closely together.
