RKL4585 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4585 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a dedicated motor supply cable that carries three-phase power and auxiliary control conductors between a drive controller and a servo motor in industrial automation cells. Because the cable must deliver high current over moderate distances without excessive heating, its copper conductors are sized and insulated for the low-voltage environments common in machine tools, packaging lines, and material-handling axes.

The four power cores each have a cross-section of 25.0 mm², a geometry that limits voltage drop while accommodating startup inrush currents. Conductor resistance is specified at 0.78 ?/km, which indicates expected I²R losses at 20 °C. When installed in equipment operating on 300/500 V systems, the cable supports common low-voltage motor power distribution. Despite the generous copper size, the finished outer diameter is only 29.8 mm, helping route the assembly through compact energy chains. For stationary routing, such as inside a control cabinet, the cable may be bent down to 5 × D without damaging the PUR jacket. The sheath is a matte, adhesion-free polyurethane compound that is halogen-free and resistant to oils often present around gearboxes or hydraulic units.

Dynamic machine axes benefit from a flexible radius of 7.5 × D, so the cable is suitable for drag-chain use where repeated motion occurs. The cable has a capacitance of 1.1 nF/m, which helps limit reactive current and reduces drive-end filter loading. Integrated auxiliary wiring is arranged as 4 × 1.5 mm², giving adequate cross-section for brake circuits or temperature monitoring while keeping overall stiffness down. The jacket uses the RAL 2003 (orange) color code for high visibility on the machine.
