The RKL4584 is a flexible motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Intended for energy supply in servo axes, the cable combines three-phase power conductors and paired control cores so that a single run handles motor current, temperature-sensor signals, and brake lines. In industrial automation, the part links Indramat drives to motors in moving machine elements while maintaining electrical integrity during continuous travel. This combined layout also helps keep cable routing more compact on axes where separate power and auxiliary lines would otherwise have to move together through the same carrier path.

Bend endurance of 5,000,000 cycles supports long service life inside drag chains, and the outer diameter of 25.5 mm fits standard cable carriers. The main phase conductors use a cross-section of 16.0 mm², while auxiliary control and brake pairs use a cross-section of 1.5 mm² within the 4×16 mm² + 2×(2×1.5 mm²)StC cable construction. The PUR jacket has an adhesion-free matte surface in RAL 2003 orange, which supports flexible travel and resists common industrial contaminants such as cutting fluids. Typical line-to-shield capacitance is 1.2 nF/m, and copper resistance at 20 °C is 1.21 ?/km, which helps estimate reactive current and voltage drop along the cable run. The cable is approved for drag-chain duty, so guided travel in repetitive motion systems remains consistent with its intended application.

During dynamic machine motion, the cable maintains signal integrity up to a linear speed of 5 m/s and can withstand accelerations as high as 10 m/s² without sheath damage or core migration. Continuous conductor temperature may reach 90 °C in stationary routing, while flexing operation is limited to 80 °C to protect insulation performance during repeated movement. These limits suit axes with long strokes, frequent reversing motion, and regular bending in automated equipment. The multi-core arrangement allows power and auxiliary circuits to travel together through the same moving path, which is useful in machines exposed to oil, repeated motion, and continuous production cycles.
