RKL4582 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4582 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for drive-to-motor connections in automated machinery, where it carries three-phase power and auxiliary control circuits in one assembly. By combining these circuits in one jacket, the cable simplifies installation and supports precise servo motion in industrial automation cells. This layout also reduces the number of separate cable runs along moving machine members, which helps keep routing compact in equipment with limited carrier space.

The core arrangement is 4x16.0 mm² + 2x(2x1.5 mm²)StC. Each control pair has a cross-section of 1.5 mm², giving low impedance for brake or temperature signal lines. Loop resistance for the power cores is limited to 1.21 Ohm/km, so voltage drop remains controlled across typical machine lengths. Both the power and control elements are rated for 600 VAC, allowing the same cable to serve low-voltage European and North American systems. A tough PUR outer sheath protects the conductors against oil, coolant, and abrasion, which is important for continuous-flex applications around articulating axes. The shielded control pairs also help keep auxiliary circuits separated from the higher-current motor conductors during operation.

The jacket is colored RAL 2003 (Orange) for quick identification inside cable trays, and the overall diameter measures 25.5 mm, supporting standard gland and chain fittings. Fixed routing can tolerate a minimum bend radius of 5 × D, while dynamic paths require 7.5 × D, and the cable is suitable for drag-chain use in repeated-motion applications. Thermal endurance reaches 90 °C when clamped, and the moving temperature limit is 80 °C to match common servo motor operating conditions. Electrical behavior under high switching frequencies is stabilized by a discharge capacitance of 1.2 nF/m, which helps maintain clean voltage waveforms between the drive and motor. The orange jacket also improves visibility in dense cable paths where multiple power and feedback cables are routed together.
