RKL4580 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4580 cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a dedicated motor power and control lead that links drive controllers to synchronous or asynchronous motors in automated machinery, carrying three-phase power along with auxiliary control pairs. By combining power conductors and signal pairs in a single assembly, the product simplifies wiring inside robots, gantries, and other motion axes that require coordinated electrical distribution.

Mechanical design centers on flexibility without compromising conductor integrity. A minimum fixed installation bend of 5 × D keeps copper strands and insulation within their elastic limits in stationary routing, while a dynamic bend requirement of 7.5 × D maintains longevity inside moving cable carriers. Continuous motion is further supported because the cable is approved for drag-chain duty. The factory-assembled plug on the motor side uses the INS0623 coding, allowing direct mating with compatible servo connectors, and the cabinet side is finished with RKS ring terminals for reliable screw-post connections. An overall diameter of 25.5 mm provides a compact envelope for the conductor size and multilayer PUR sheath, allowing the cable to pass through narrow energy tracks and control panels.

Electrically, the power cores use a cross-section of 16.0 mm², providing low resistance for high current draw, while two shielded control pairs follow the 2x(2x1.5 mm²) StC arrangement for brake or temperature signals. Copper conductors may operate continuously up to +90 °C, so thermal headroom is adequate for densely packed cabinets. The outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick identification and is extruded from abrasion-resistant, adhesion-free PUR; the formulation is halogen-free to reduce corrosive gas release during a fire. For international use, the power cores are rated at 300/500 V (VDE) and 600 V AC (UL), enabling the same cable to satisfy European and North American installation codes.
