The RKL4574 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to route three-phase power from servo drives to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery where repeated motion and confined installation paths require stable electrical performance. By combining power conductors and auxiliary control pairs in a single PUR-sheathed jacket, the cable simplifies wiring in drag chains and other moving assemblies used in packaging lines, gantry axes, and pick-and-place units. This single-cable layout also helps keep moving cable packages compact and organized where several axes must travel through the same carrier.
The copper conductors are arranged as 4 × 16.0 mm² power cores for the main phases and 4 × 1.5 mm² control cores for brake or sensor functions. In fixed routing, the cable uses a minimum bend radius of 5 × D, while dynamic applications require a larger radius of 7.5 × D to protect insulation and strand geometry. Mechanical endurance is rated for 5 million bending cycles, so the assembly can remain reliable during prolonged drag-chain duty. The orange outer jacket is made of wear-resistant PUR that withstands abrasion from cable carriers and resists cutting oils. This arrangement lets one cable serve both motor power and auxiliary circuits without adding separate runs, which helps reduce crowding in moving cable systems.
Electrical characteristics support stable operation. The loop resistance is limited to 1.21 ?/km, which helps reduce resistive losses over longer machine axes. Capacitance between conductor and shield is 1.2 nF/m, a value that matters when inverter switching interacts with cable length and motor terminals. Visual identification is straightforward because the sheath uses the RAL 2003 orange color code, making it easier to distinguish from feedback or control wiring in dense equipment layouts. Temperature stability under continuous motion is rated up to +80 °C for the flexing conductors, supporting use near warm motor housings and in enclosed machine spaces where heat can build during extended operating cycles.
