RKL4572 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4572 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo and spindle drives, the assembly transmits three-phase power and auxiliary control signals between the drive controller and the motor in automated machinery. Its hybrid layout places both power cores and twisted control pairs under a common sheath, simplifying routing in panels, energy chains, and conveyor lines while meeting electrical and mechanical requirements typical of dynamic industrial motion axes.

Four copper conductors with a cross-section of 16.0 mm² form the power group; together with two shielded control pairs, the geometry corresponds to the 4x16 mm² + 2x(2x1.5 mm²) StC construction. Under rated temperature, the DC loop resistance of the power cores is 1.21 ?/km, a value that limits voltage drop on long runs. Each control pair uses a 1.5 mm² cross-section to carry encoder, brake, or thermal sensor signals without significant IR loss. The overall capacitive load toward ground is 1.2 nF/m, which can affect drive output filter requirements. Visual identification in multi-cable ducts is quick because the outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 orange. The cable has four current-carrying conductors and maintains its electrical characteristics when flexed inside cable tracks.

Mechanical resilience is provided by a PUR (adhesion-free, matte) sheath that resists abrasion, oils, and welding sparks. When permanently laid, the cable can withstand conductor temperatures up to 90 °C, while the limit in continuous-flex installations is 80 °C. Static routing requires only a bend radius of 5 x D, while moving cable chains call for 7.5 x D to help prevent conductor fatigue. An outside diameter of 25.5 mm balances current capacity with compact routing space, and the integrated braid shield from the StC design controls electromagnetic emission along high-power drive paths without separate grounding straps.
