RKL4564 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4564 is a flexible motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links servo drives to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery, transmitting three-phase power along with control cores so the drive can monitor thermal sensors or brakes. Designed for continuous motion inside cable tracks, it helps maintain a reliable motor supply while accommodating tight mechanical layouts on production lines and handling robots.

The cable operates at up to 600 AC, matching the line voltage used by many Rexroth drive inverters. Its outer jacket diameter of 22.2 mm provides enough wall thickness to protect the bundled conductors from abrasion while still fitting standard drag-chain partitions. That jacket is made of PUR, a material that resists oils and weld spatter common in factory cells, and it is colored RAL 2003 orange for clear identification as power wiring. The main power cores each have a cross-section of 10.0 mm², which supports current levels suitable for medium-frame motors. The internal conductor arrangement uses a 4 x 10.0 mm² + 2 x 1.0 mm² StC + 2 x 1.5 mm² StC layout, so the control pairs remain evenly positioned around the power bundle. One end is finished with ferrules and a ring terminal, while the opposite side mates to a Plug Connector RLS0723 for a secure electrical connection.

For dynamic routing, the cable withstands a bend radius of 7.5×D during motion and 5×D when fixed, allowing installation in compact carriers without overstressing the copper. Testing shows a service life of 5 million bending cycles, which supports high-duty gantry axes that run continuously. Distributed capacitance is 1.0 nF/m, which helps keep reactive current low during operation. A conductor resistance of 1.91 Ohm/km at 20 °C helps limit resistive losses over long runs. The PUR sheath also helps limit moisture ingress during use, supporting stable electrical performance over time.
