The RKL4562 is a motor power cable engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Within automated assembly lines and machining centers, this cable links the drive controller to the servomotor, carrying phase current while withstanding motion along cable tracks. The design supports both static cabinet runs and moving axes, so the electrical and mechanical properties are balanced for continuous industrial duty. Its layout allows the same cable family to serve machines that need dependable power delivery while also tolerating repeated routing through confined spaces.
The power core of the cable is sized at 10.0 mm², a section that supports high RMS currents with limited voltage drop over typical machine lengths. Around the conductors, an overall diameter of 22.2 mm provides space for insulation, fillers, and the protective jacket that absorbs abrasion from cable chains. When permanently installed, the assembly remains functional from -30 to +40 °C, supporting motor feed stability in unheated plants and warm enclosures alike. Copper losses remain predictable because the conductor resistance is only 1.91 ?/km at 20 °C, which helps with current planning and protective device selection. A fixed bending radius of 5 × D limits compression of the insulation layers during routing through control cabinets. This makes the cable easier to route in enclosed panels where repeated sharp bends could shorten service life.
The cable also includes two control pairs with a 1.0 mm² cross-section for brake or feedback power, along with two auxiliary cores of 1.5 mm² for sensor supply or thermal contact circuits. The outer sheath is made from PUR, which provides oil resistance and added protection against cuts and machine coolant splash. Capacitance between conductors is held to 1.0 nF/m, reducing reactive current that would otherwise burden high-frequency inverters. In dynamic drag-chain service, the cable must flex repeatedly, so the minimum bending radius increases to 7.5 × D and the conductor temperature may rise to 80 °C without damaging the dielectric structure. This combination of separate power and auxiliary conductors allows one cable assembly to support motor operation and related control functions without adding extra external wiring.
