RKL4555 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4555 cable is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for dynamic servo axes, the cable routes drive power and auxiliary signals between the inverter and a moving motor. Its construction supports drag-chain installation in automated assembly lines, where continual flexing and electrical noise suppression are required. The cable also uses separate shielding for control conductors and overall shielding for the full assembly, helping power transmission and signal paths operate together in motion systems with frequent acceleration and reversal.

The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, allowing repeated travel in energy chains without conductor fatigue. Electrical losses are limited by a conductor resistance of 7.98 Ohm/km at 20 °C, while capacitive coupling between phases is limited to 0.7 nF/m to help reduce reactive current on longer runs. Installation space is guided by a minimum bend radius of 5 x D in fixed routing and 7.5 x D during motion, so the cable can be routed without overstressing the cores. Two separately shielded control pairs with a 1.0 mm² conductor size carry brake or sensor signals, and the overall copper braid with foil shielding helps limit electromagnetic interference near adjacent machine wiring.

The outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for clear identification of moving power lines in the machine. Its PUR (adhesion-free, matte) jacket resists oils, weld spatter, and abrasion while sliding through guide channels and cable carriers. The cable has 4 power conductors, and each conductor has a cross-section of 2.5 mm², which supports standard termination at compatible drive and motor connections. The matte surface also helps reduce sticking between adjacent cables, which is useful where tightly packed moving harnesses cycle continuously through the same path.
