RKL4541 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4541 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for routing three-phase drive output and auxiliary signals between the inverter and a synchronous or induction motor inside automated machinery. By integrating power and low-level control cores in one sheath, the cable simplifies cabinet layouts and supports coordinated axis functions in production cells, packaging lines, and material-handling modules.

The cable uses bulk cable type INK0607, so the copper cores, insulation layers, and screening geometry follow that standardized layout for low-impedance drive connections. Each phase lead carries a cross section of 25.0 mm², allowing moderate servo currents without excessive voltage drop. The motor-side connection is arranged for a terminal box of size 2, eliminating adapters when the enclosure matches that footprint. There are 4 separate control cores, which support temperature sensors or holding-brake supply lines while keeping the overall diameter compact. Those auxiliary wires use a cross section of 1.5 mm², balancing signal integrity with flexibility. The cable uses a halogen-free insulation system that limits corrosive gas emission during an arc fault and meets plant safety policies.

The external sheath is PUR with a matte finish, giving abrasion resistance and stable dielectric properties. When installed permanently, the minimum static bend radius is 5 × D, so cable trays can be routed tightly without stressing the copper screens. During dynamic motion, the radius must widen to 7.5 × D to avoid work hardening of the conductors. The sheath is colored RAL 2003 (orange) to match drive-system wiring conventions and improve traceability in crowded enclosures. Because the construction is rated for drag chain use, it withstands continual flex cycles in pick-and-place gantries and tooling carriages.
