The RKL4538 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for supplying energy between drive controllers and servomotors in automated machinery, and it accommodates repeated movement inside cable carriers, ensuring dependable transmission of three-phase power and auxiliary signals within industrial automation cells. Its geometry and materials are selected to limit electrical losses and electromagnetic coupling so that servo loops maintain precision.

The cable's mechanical endurance is marked by a bending life of 5,000,000 cycles, allowing installation in dynamic drag chains without early fatigue. Electrical efficiency is supported by a low conductor resistance of 0.78 ?/km at 20 °C, which reduces voltage drop over extended lengths. Each of the three power cores has a cross-sectional area of 25.0 mm², giving adequate ampacity for high-torque servo axes. A mutual capacitance of 1.1 nF/m is kept within limits that help drives meet EMC targets and reduce reactive current. Despite these generous conductors, the overall diameter is only 29.8 mm, so routing through machine sidewalls and energy chains requires less space than comparable high-current cables.

For auxiliary circuits, two control conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² are integrated alongside the power cores, simplifying brake or sensor wiring. The outer sheath is molded from PUR, a material chosen for oil resistance and low abrasion, and it is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick identification in crowded cable trays. The cable is rated for drag chain operation and is supplied with a separable connection option, so the assembly can be disconnected without rewiring.
