RKL4533 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4533 cable is an industrial motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It carries three-phase motor current along with auxiliary signals between drive controllers and synchronous motors in automated machinery. The design integrates power, control, and protective earth conductors in one sheath, simplifying routing and reducing cabinet space in motion systems. Its PUR jacket and high-flex construction allow continuous motion in cable tracks used on gantries, pick-and-place axes, and other moving equipment. This type of assembly is used where one moving cable must handle motor power and support lines at the same time.

Electrically, the cable uses a 4x6.0 +(2x1.0)StC +(2x1.5)StC conductor layout. The primary current path is formed by four copper conductors with a cross-section of 6.0 mm². Two shielded pairs with cross-sections of 1.0 mm² and 1.5 mm² carry brake release and thermal sensor lines. Inside the molded M23 interface, 3 + PE power pins are arranged alongside seven control pins with crimp contacts. The green/yellow protective earth conductor ensures proper bonding, and the overall sheath diameter is 18.5 mm, which suits standard drag-chain carriers. The matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket resists oil and coolant exposure while maintaining flexibility.

Mechanical endurance under repetitive motion is rated for 5 million bending cycles when routed within the permitted dynamic limits. To prevent conductor fatigue, the minimum bend radius during movement is 7.5 × D, where D represents the outer diameter. The copper conductors withstand continuous service at +90 °C when fixed and at +80 °C during flexing strokes. A crimp pin system helps reduce contact resistance during repeated motion. The PUR jacket also has a low-friction surface that allows the cable to slide freely in chain links without bonding to adjacent hoses.
