RKL4522 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4522 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links drive converters to synchronous or induction motors so that energy and low-level control signals travel through one assembly, reducing panel space and wiring time in automated equipment. With both power and auxiliary conductors inside a single jacket, the cable supports coordinated motion in conveyors, gantries, and assembly cells where continuous flexing or fixed routing may be required.

The line capacitance is 0.8 nF/m, a value that limits reactive current and helps the drive maintain stable voltage at high carrier frequencies. Copper DC resistance is 4.95 ?/km at 20 °C, which affects voltage drop over long runs and fuse sizing. Each three-phase power core offers a cross-section of 4.0 mm², allowing standard motor currents for axes up to roughly 11 A. Separate auxiliary pairs are included: 1.0 mm² conductors for encoder or sensor lines on cores 5-6 and 1.5 mm² conductors on cores 7-8 for brake release or thermal switches. The outer sheath is molded from PUR, giving abrasion resistance and compatibility with cable chains. Overall diameter measures 17.0 mm, which determines gland selection and cabinet feed-through dimensions.

The jacket is colored Orange (RAL 2003) to identify energized motor wiring per DIN guidelines. When permanently installed, the cable withstands conductor temperatures up to +90 °C; in dynamic drag-chain applications the limit is +80 °C. Minimum bend radii are 85 mm for static layouts and 127.5 mm for moving loops, with the fixed figure of 85 mm supporting tight cabinet turns. Power insulation is rated for 300/500 V while control pairs carry 300/300 V, ensuring separation between drive power and logic-level circuits. The PUR sheath, combined with these voltage and bend limits, allows reliable use in both stationary and constantly flexing industrial environments.
