RKL4520 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4520 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. The assembly carries three-phase power and auxiliary control lines between Indramat servo drives and matched motors, allowing electrical energy and control signals to travel in a single routed bundle. This arrangement supports cleaner routing where motor power and auxiliary connections must follow the same path through a machine. It is intended for both dynamic cable chains and stationary routing inside automated equipment, where stable current delivery and consistent signal transmission are required for synchronous motion control.

This cable uses three power conductors with a cross-section of 16.0 mm² and four control cores sized 1.5 mm², which keeps the auxiliary circuits separate from motor phase current. The conductor resistance is 1.21 ?/km, which helps reduce voltage drop on longer cable runs. A molded RLS0723/K16 connector mates directly with compatible drive terminals, and the outer diameter of 25.5 mm helps the cable fit common routing hardware and chain guides. For moving installations, the minimum dynamic bend radius is 7.5 × D, and the PUR jacket in RAL 2003 orange remains adhesion-free against nearby cables and machine parts. Its smooth outer surface also helps prevent sticking when multiple cables move together in the same carrier.

For continuous motion in cable chains, the design is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, which suits repetitive axis travel in gantry and pick-and-place systems. Static routing inside a cabinet or along a machine frame may use a bend as small as 5 × D. Fixed installations tolerate ambient temperatures from -30 to +40 °C, while flexing applications are limited to -20 to +40 °C. The different temperature ranges reflect the added stress of repeated motion, and they help prevent jacket embrittlement during operation. The PUR sheath remains matte and abrasion resistant during stationary or repeated-motion use.
