RKL4518 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4518 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for dynamic automation lines, it forms the dedicated power link between an IndraDrive inverter and a servomotor, and it fits directly to size-4 motor terminal boxes. The cable transmits high current to the stator while also carrying control cores for temperature sensors or brakes. In servo systems, this allows one cable assembly to serve both the motor power path and the auxiliary signal path between the drive cabinet and the machine axis. This arrangement supports compact routing in energy chains and fixed cabinet runs without separating power and auxiliary wiring.

Mechanical flexibility is supported by an endurance rating of 5,000,000 bending cycles in drag-chain operation. During motion, the conductor bundle may be flexed to a minimum radius of 7.5 × D, so at the stated outer diameter of 29.8 mm the loop can close to about 224 mm without excessive stress on the cable body. That flexibility helps the cable follow repeated travel paths where the axis moves continuously during machine cycles. Because drag-chain use is supported, the orange PUR sheath resists abrasion and cutting, and the material combines oil resistance with halogen-free self-extinguishing behavior. Visual identification on crowded cable trays is aided by the coating color of RAL 2003. For installation, the factory-terminated RLS0723/K25 connection set mates the cable to the drive.

Electrically, the INK0607 bulk construction keeps line-to-line capacitance at 1.1 nF/m, which helps limit reactive current during high-frequency PWM drive switching. Copper conductors exhibit a resistance of 0.78 ?/km, which helps control voltage drop over long runs and supports stable torque production at the motor. Auxiliary cores with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² carry sensor or brake signals, while the three power cores are sized at 25 mm² to handle the thermal load associated with standard servo duty. Separating the auxiliary conductors from the larger power conductors helps the cable support both control-related functions and motor supply in a single assembly. The cable layout matches Bosch Rexroth drive pinouts, so the pre-assembled ends can be installed without field cutting and the cable is not altered during installation.
