RKL4517 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the RKL4517, a motor power cable in the RKL Motor Power Cables series. The assembly creates the electrical path between an Indramat power controller and its synchronous servomotor, transferring three-phase drive current as well as auxiliary signals required for closed-loop automation. It is intended for servo systems that need motor power and supporting control lines in a single cable assembly. By matching the electrical rating and connector format of compatible drives, the cable simplifies wiring in motion systems.

The main conductors have a cross-section of 50.0 mm², giving the assembly the ampacity needed for high-current servo axes. Separate auxiliary cores sized at 2.5 mm² accommodate brake release or sensor supply lines without requiring a second harness. Its composite layout of 4x50 + 2x(2x2.5) mm² keeps power and control circuits in one sheath, which helps keep cable routing compact. A copper resistance of 0.386 Ohm/km limits voltage drop over long routes so the drive can maintain torque accuracy. A UL-listed insulation strength of 600 V AC allows the cable to be used on the motor side of inverters that run at standard factory voltages without additional conduit.

Mechanical service factors are addressed by an outer diameter of 36.8 mm, which balances conductor area with routing space in cable trays. When clamped in stationary runs, the cable can be bent to 5 × D, while dynamic carriers require 7.5 × D to reduce conductor fatigue during repeated motion. The wear-resistant PUR jacket tolerates oil splash and continual movement, making the cable suitable for drag-chain installations. Factory-installed terminations place RLS0723/K50 at the controller end and RLK0006 at the motor end. This arrangement avoids field crimping and helps preserve shield integrity during vibration.
