The RKL4514 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. This round, multi-core assembly delivers drive power and low-level control signals between Rexroth servo inverters and synchronous motors in automated production lines. Its construction supports repetitive motion inside drag chains, on gantry axes, and across articulated robots where electrical integrity must be preserved despite constant bending. A GNYE protective conductor is integrated for equipment grounding, and individual control cores support brake release or sensor functions used by modern drive packages.

Bend radius and cable diameter affect routing in both fixed and moving installations. For stationary routing, the cable may be fastened on a radius of 5 x D. When the machine axis moves, the minimum dynamic radius is 7.5 x D. The outer sheath measures 22.2 mm in diameter and encloses 8 conductors plus the protective ground. Each power core has a 10.0 mm² cross-section, while the copper loop resistance at 20 °C is 1.91 ?/km, which helps limit voltage drop over long runs. The cable supports conductor temperatures up to +90 °C in fixed installation and +80 °C during flexing, so routing and chain selection must keep the jacket within those limits.

The cable is built for repeated motion while also carrying auxiliary circuits. It is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, allowing long service life in high-duty pick-and-place cells. Two dedicated control pairs are sized differently: cores 5 and 6 use a 1.0 mm² cross-section for low-level control loads, while cores 7 and 8 use 1.5 mm² conductors to carry brake coil current. Overall capacitive coupling is limited to 1.0 nF/m, which reduces reactive charging currents at fast-switching inverter pulse trains and helps control unwanted electrical coupling.
