The RKL4512 is a dynamic motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. This shielded assembly supplies three-phase power from drive amplifiers to servo motors while reducing emitted noise in automated production lines. Its mechanical design suits continuously moving axes found in gantries, pick-and-place robots, and conveyor modules, so electrical energy reaches the motor without interruption during rapid cycles. Conductor cross-sections, insulation clearances, and a PUR jacket are proportioned for the current levels commonly required by mid-frame synchronous motors.
The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, indicating how many drag-chain strokes it can tolerate before fatigue becomes critical. To avoid sheath kinking, the cable requires a static bend radius of 85 mm and a dynamic bend radius of 127.5 mm; these clearances help keep the layered shielding intact when the chain articulates. An outside diameter of 17.0 mm makes the assembly compatible with chain cavities designed for 20 mm slots while still allowing airflow for heat dissipation. The core set includes 4x4.0 mm² phase conductors, which provide enough copper cross-section to carry motor stall currents without excessive voltage drop. A total shield surrounds those cores with a tinned braid that returns stray high-frequency components to the drive chassis, and the matte low-adhesion surface of the orange jacket helps prevent debris from sticking.
The operational envelope extends to conductor temperatures of 80 °C, permitting service near warm servo housings and tightly packed cabinets. The bulk cable designation is INK0603, which helps match cut lengths and connector kits with the same dielectric and attenuation characteristics. A PUR outer jacket resists oils and coolants, and its color aids quick identification among signal leads. Final termination uses an M32 x 1.5 EMC gland that clamps the braid through 360° for uninterrupted grounding and strain relief during continuous motion.
