RKL4508 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4508 power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a pre-terminated assembly designed to supply three-phase power and auxiliary signals between a servo controller and its corresponding motor in automated machining cells, packaging lines, and other motion platforms. By combining drive power, protective earth, and accessory cores inside one industrial jacket, the cable simplifies installation and helps maintain electromagnetic compatibility in control cabinets and drag-chain routing.

As its primary conductors, the cable uses three 3x10.0 mm² copper cores. This cross-section supports the continuous current required by mid-frame synchronous motors without excessive heating. A dedicated protective earth of 1x10.0 mm² runs in parallel so fault currents return rapidly to ground instead of traveling through machine structures. Control functions such as holding brakes or thermal sensors are carried by four auxiliary conductors sized 2x1.0 mm² + 2x1.5 mm², which provide separate low-current channels inside the same sheath. The cable has an overall diameter of 22.2 mm, and all elements are built on base cable type INK0605 with a PUR sheath that resists oil, coolants, and repetitive flexing common to cable chains.

At the controller end, a keyed circular plug, RLS0721/K10, mates directly with IndraDrive power modules, while the motor end terminates in the compact RLK0004 connector for Rexroth stator housings. Electrical losses are limited by a loop resistance of 1.91 ?/km, supporting long runs without noticeable voltage drop, and the discharge capacitance of 1.0 nF/m remains low enough for drives that monitor insulation. During movement, the cable requires a minimum bend radius of 7.5 x D, and fixed routing permits a static radius of 5 x D. The dedicated controller and motor connectors keep the assembly matched to its intended power interface at both ends.
