RKL4506 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4506 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed as the link between Indramat servo drives and synchronous motors, the cable routes three-phase power and auxiliary control leads while keeping EMI within limits needed for industrial automation. Its purpose is to carry drive output to the motor termination under dynamic motion conditions, allowing accurate speed and torque regulation in conveyors, packaging lines, and other automated machinery.

The cable's overall geometry influences installation and electrical loss. A 17.0 mm outer diameter balances conductor size with routing space, and the 4.0 mm² power cores limit voltage drop at typical drive currents. Loop resistance is 4.95 Ohm/km at 20 °C and affects heating over distance. The discharge capacity is 0.8 nF/m, which affects inverter switching noise. The sheath is molded from PUR for oil and abrasion resistance. Three phase conductors plus a green-yellow protective earth form the main circuit, while control pairs with 1.0 mm² conductors on pins 5-6 and 1.5 mm² conductors on pins 7-8 carry brake or temperature signals. For fixed layouts, the cable may be bent to a radius of five times its diameter without stressing the jacket.

Dynamic installations are supported by a 7.5 × D minimum bend radius, which applies when the cable flexes during each machine cycle. The drive cabinet side locks to the RLS0722/K04 connector, and the motor side mates with the RLK0004 coupling for pin-compatible connection to servo equipment. For inventory control, the cable is ordered under the INK0603 bulk type designation, which allows cut lengths to keep the same electrical profile as the preassembled variant. Segregated control pairs minimize crosstalk with the power cores, and the PUR jacket preserves dielectric integrity against coolants and lubricants encountered along moving axes.
