RKL4505 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The Bosch Rexroth Indramat RKL4505 is a dedicated motor power cable belonging to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It serves as the energy link between drive amplifiers and servomotors by carrying phase current and auxiliary supply lines in a single jacket. This arrangement reduces the need to route separate cable bundles between the control cabinet and the moving axis, which helps keep cable paths organized on machines with repeated travel. The cable is intended for drag-chain service and other installations where repeated motion and stable heat dissipation are important.

The power conductors use a cross section of 2.5 mm², giving the cable current capacity suited to many low-voltage servo applications. Four auxiliary leads with 1.0 mm² cross sections carry brake or sensor signals alongside the motor phases, so one cable can support both power and related control functions. The cable has an outer diameter of 14.8 mm, and its PUR (adhesion-free, matte) jacket resists oil splash, coolants, and repeated flexing while helping adjacent cables slide freely in motion systems. Internal insulation tolerates conductor temperatures up to +80/+90 °C during operation. For fixed routing, the cable requires a minimum bend radius of 5 x D to protect the insulation and shield.

Fixed installations can operate in ambient temperatures from -30 to +40 °C, while moving applications stay within -20 to +40 °C so the jacket remains flexible during travel. In dynamic drag-chain use, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles when the moving loop maintains a radius of 7.5 x D. These limits suit the cable to pick-and-place units, tool changers, and long-travel linear axes that subject wiring to constant motion. The flexible sheath and controlled bend behavior help maintain smooth travel in cable carriers and reduce stress at repeated turning points.
