RKL4504 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4504 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It carries three-phase drive power and auxiliary signals between Rexroth servo drives and synchronous motors in automated machinery. This single routed assembly supplies both the main stator windings and low-current control functions through one cable. That layout helps keep the motor connection more compact and reduces the need for separate external cable runs between the drive and the machine axis.

The overall jacket diameter is 22.2 mm, allowing routing through standard energy-chain brackets while still housing sizable copper cores. Drive power is delivered through 4 x 10.0 mm² conductors that accommodate start-up inrush and continuous full-load current. Two shielded control pairs of 2 x 1.0 mm² support brake release or temperature sensors, and a further auxiliary pair of 2 x 1.5 mm² is reserved for functions such as motor fan supply. All circuits, both control and power, are rated to 600 VAC, so one insulation system covers the entire assembly. The cable is certified for drag-chain service, meaning its copper stranding and jacket withstand millions of bending cycles without conductor rupture.

Electrical losses are limited by a conductor resistance of 1.91 ?/km, so voltage drop stays low on axes with extended travel. Mutual capacitance is held to 1.0 nF/m, minimizing reactive current that can burden the drive output stage at higher PWM frequencies. The outer sheath is molded from PUR, giving abrasion, coolant, and oil resistance, and its industrial visibility is improved by the RAL 2003 (Orange) color code. When fixed, the wire insulation endures temperatures up to 90 °C. During continuous motion, it is limited to 80 °C to help preserve jacket flexibility.
