RKL4501 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4501 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for routing between a drive controller and a moving servo motor, so the cable must tolerate high cycle counts inside drag-chain installations found on pick-and-place modules, gantry axes, and machining centers. By combining four power cores with two shielded control pairs in a single jacket, the product carries the three-phase feed as well as auxiliary signals needed for safe operation and monitoring of Indramat motion systems.

This cable has an outside diameter of 14.8 mm, which provides a clear reference for gland and cable-chain selection. Mechanical durability is shown by a flex life of 5,000,000 cycles and a minimum dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D; in fixed routing, the radius can be reduced to 5 × D. A PUR jacket resists oils and cutting fluids, and its high-visibility finish is coded RAL 2003 (Orange) to match common machinery wiring practices. The construction includes a total braid and foil shield around four power conductors, each sized at 2.5 mm², plus an additional drain wire to maintain low impedance to ground. Rated insulation supports up to 600 VAC, allowing the cable to connect standard 400 V class drives without derating.

Electrical performance includes a conductor resistance of 7.98 ?/km, which helps limit voltage drop over long travel paths, and a mutual capacitance of 0.7 nF/m, which supports stable electrical behavior during operation. Two control pairs, supplied as 2 shielded pairs, use a 1.0 mm² cross-section so brake, encoder, or temperature signals can run next to the power cores with reduced crosstalk. The total shield and the PUR jacket help keep electromagnetic emissions low while protecting the internal cores from mechanical abrasion during continuous motion.
