RKL4498 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4498 is a factory-terminated power lead from the RKL Motor Power Cables series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Designed for cabinet-to-motor links, the assembly carries three-phase output, auxiliary signals, and protective earth between IndraDrive controllers and matching servo or spindle motors. By delivering power, auxiliary, and grounding conductors within a single jacket, it simplifies routing inside automated cells and helps maintain electromagnetic compatibility with the drive system. Its molded connectors and shielded layout also help limit radiated noise that could interfere with nearby signal wiring.

The cable contains 8 copper conductors arranged in power, auxiliary, and ground groups. The primary phase lines use a cross-section of 2.5 mm², allowing the continuous current required by low- to mid-power motors, while the auxiliary pair uses 1.0 mm² conductors for signal-level loads such as blower fans or brake release circuits. Because its overall construction is rated as a Power Cable, the insulation thickness and dielectric spacing are suited to motor voltage clearances rather than low-level control circuits. The jacket material follows bulk type INK0602, giving the bundle the temperature and flex endurance expected in moving-cable energy chains. This arrangement places motor power and auxiliary conductors in one assembly, which helps keep cable paths organized where space around the axis is limited.

At the controller side, the harness terminates in an RLS0721 (K03) circular connector that mates directly with IndraDrive power modules, while the motor side uses an RLK0004 bayonet plug designed to fit Rexroth MSK stator housings. The protective earth conductor uses yellow-green insulation identified as GNYE, providing standardized grounding identification across machine frames. The cable is part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series, and the keyed shells maintain correct phase orientation during assembly. These connector styles support secure mating and stable cable retention during normal machine motion and vibration.
