RKL4497 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4497 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is used to route power and auxiliary control lines between Indramat servo drives and synchronous motors in automated machinery. By combining flexible mechanical properties with stable electrical characteristics, the cable supports consistent current delivery and dependable signal transmission in moving cable chains used on pick-and-place axes, gantries, and compact transfer systems. Its design suits applications where repeated motion and limited installation space place continuous stress on cable routing.

The cable uses bulk cable type INK0602. Its copper conductors for the main phases have a cross-section of 2.5 mm², while the integrated control pair has a cross-section of 1.0 mm² for separate auxiliary circuits. An outer diameter of 14.8 mm supports compact routing through energy chains. Direct current losses are limited by a conductor resistance of 7.98 ?/km at 20 °C, and capacitive coupling to ground is kept to 0.7 nF/m to reduce leakage currents at high switching frequencies. For dynamic motion, the cable can flex around a radius of 7.5 × D during continuous operation, and for fixed installation it should be laid with a bend radius of at least 5 × D. The motor end uses connector RLK0003, while the drive end uses RLS0721/K03 for direct connection to compatible equipment.

Endurance in e-chain service is supported by a rated life of 5,000,000 bending cycles, which suits repetitive machine movement over long operating periods. The sheath is made of PUR, chosen for its adhesion-free matte surface that slides easily against adjacent cables and resists cutting oils. A high-visibility RAL 2003 orange jacket makes the cable easier to identify inside dense machine assemblies. This jacket material also helps protect the cable during constant motion, where abrasion resistance and surface stability are important for reliable routing.
