The RKL4494 cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is a multi-core assembly intended for industrial automation where drive inverters must deliver power and low-level signals to moving servo motors. A single sheath carries the primary conductors for motor phases plus separate pairs for monitoring or brake release, allowing one cable run from the control cabinet to the axis while maintaining consistent electromagnetic performance across multiple installations. It is suited to repeated axis movement in automated equipment.

The power circuit inside the cable uses a cross-section of 10.0 mm², which helps limit voltage drop over long machine spans. Two control pairs are provided at 2 × 1.0 mm² and 2 × 1.5 mm², and these smaller cores handle sensor or brake currents without taking up extra conduit space. When energized from inverters, the assembly withstands up to 600 V AC. Mechanical protection comes from a PUR (adhesion-free, matte) outer jacket that resists oil and abrasion while remaining easy to pull through drag chains. The overall outside diameter is 22.2 ± 1.0 mm, so gland and carrier hardware can be selected with a predictable fit. For fixed routing, the cable may be bent to 5 × D, and in dynamic carriers it tolerates 7.5 × D, which helps limit copper strain during repetitive strokes. A conductor resistance of 1.91 ?/km and a discharge capacity of 1.0 nF/m help calculate losses and common-mode currents in high-frequency PWM environments.

The jacket maintains integrity up to +40 °C ambient, and for static machine frames it continues to flex reliably down to -30 °C. Mobile cable tracks may operate to -20 °C without cracking. Internal copper can reach a sustained maximum of +90 °C before insulation aging accelerates, so current settings must stay within the calculated load curve. In packaging lines, palletizers, and transfer stations, the cable is used on continuous-duty servo axes within these temperature and bending limits.
